What We Do

Dreams & Wishes is a charity dedicated to helping seriously ill children by making their dreams and wishes come true. Since we began in 2011, we have been working with families providing vital support throughout the child’s illness as well as helping to build happy memories by granting lifelong wishes.

Battling a life-threatening illness is heart-breaking for both a child and their support network and can often mean countless hospital stays, painful treatments and a loss of a ‘childhood’, something which most children take for granted. Dreams & Wishes provide support for children and their families as well as ensuring that families are still able to make wonderful and long-lasting memories.

We understand that every child is unique with their own dreams and wishes, so it is our aim to make sure that every child we work with is able to fulfil their dream. Some children want to meet their favorite TV stars, fly in a helicopter, visit LEGOLAND or to just have their own playhouse. No matter how big or small a child’s dream is, we are committed to making sure it comes true.

Dreams & Wishes is a completely volunteer-run organization with no paid expenses which lets us focus solely on granting wishes. The support we have from our volunteers is invaluable to us as they bring a diverse range of expertise from many business areas, all of which help us in the day-to-day running of the charity, raising awareness, organising events and of course, ensuring that dreams come true.

We have found that many businesses want to use their success to help others and we have been honoured that we have been chosen as a charity partner for a number of businesses. Our corporate sponsors tell us that they chose us as their dedicated charity because of the inspirational children we help. Cardiff City Football Club, Lloyds Bank and Thomson Holidays are just some of our partners that are currently actively involved in helping us grant wishes.

Tony Curtis MBE – Chairman

Tony has a proud history of working with national children’s charities, earning him an MBE which was awarded in 2003. He co-founded Dreams & Wishes as he wanted to provide support for seriously ill children and their families during such heart-breaking circumstances.

Macsen Giess

This summer Dreams & Wishes have arranged so many surprises and treats for me. It has really been the best summer I’ve ever had. It’s really made up for having to spend a year in hospital and I am very grateful. I am very proud to have been asked to be an ambassador for the charity and I hope my story will help other children who are not well.
